Community Integrated Health Demonstration Project

Description: In efforts to strengthen the linkages between traditional healthcare organizations and parks and recreation working to improve access to programs and services for adults with arthritis and other chronic conditions, the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), with support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is requesting applications to demonstrate the feasibility, effectiveness and scalability of the use of an electronic health record (EHR) query process to identify patients with arthritis and refer them to arthritis-appropriate evidence-based interventions (AAEBIs) offered through local parks and recreation. COAPRT Visitor Training

Description: The Council on Accreditation for Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT) recognizes academic programs in colleges and universities that prepare new professionals to enter the parks, recreation, tourism and related professions. In prior years, members of the COAPRT board have conducted an annual training at National Recreation & Park Association's (NRPA) Congress for faculty and practitioners interested in becoming a COAPRT visitor. Those interested in serving as a visitor must attend a training every 5 years. In order to best serve our accredited programs COAPRT is responding to the desire for more visitor training opportunities. Therefore members of the Council will be conducting a free 90 minute online training on April 11, 2019, 3:30-5:00pm EST. We encourage any faculty interested in serving as a visitor in the future to attend this training. Many visitors have noted the experience to be a rewarding professional development opportunity.
